A Happy New Year to everyone and a massive thank you to the sponsors so far.
Although I’ve been training since July last year, the official training has now commenced, courtesy of a £2.50 training plan from Real Buzz (official media partners I believe).
I’ve completed 3 long runs since Christmas Day and rough distances and times are below. These are training runs, not race runs (so slower than a race, I hope!). The Brighton Half Marathon on 20th February will be a good gauge on the progress.
- Boxing Day – Approximately 9 miles in 1H 35M
- 3rd January – Approximately 10 miles in 1H 48M
- 9th January – Approximately 11.5 miles in 2H 3M
Mid-week training runs have also taken place, varying between 25 minutes to 60 minutes. These runs have consisted of treadmill, off-road and hilly fartlek (around Moors Valley).
Schedule for this week is:
- Tuesday 35 minutes steady.
- Wednesday 3 x 10 minutes hard with 3 minutes rest in between.
- Thursday 35 minutes jog.
- Friday 50 minutes steady.
- Sunday 130 minutes slow.
Next update scheduled for 16th Jan.
Have a great week.
Ben
