No More Boozy Saturday’s

After 4 days of back-to-back training, I scheduled in 2 rest days (Saturday & Sunday) with the plan to do a long run today. This was partly to have some well-earned rest. But more importantly it was to enjoy a round of golf, followed by a few beers and a curry with my old cricket team (Giltec) and some family members. This was arranged to celebrate my brother and dad’s joint birthday.

Despite some extremely cold weather on Saturday, everyone had a great day at Horton Country Park. This carried on into the evening where several pints were downed in the Harrow and rather nice curry consumed courtesy of The Star in Cheam Willage.

The result was a rather large hangover on Sunday and fatigue carrying on into today, so I decided to skip the long run in favour of a light 25 minute jog at 10km per hour!

Schedule for the rest of the week will be as follows:

  • Tuesday 1st– 45 minutes steady pace
  • Thursday 3rd – 75 minutes off-road fartlek training
  • Friday 4th – 45 minutes easy pace
  • Sunday 6th – 160 minutes at a good pace (with 2 litres of water in my Camelbak).

Roll on some warmer weather!

All the best,

Ben
